Bar Reduction

Rebartec® Bar Reduction is used for the purpose transition/reduction of Bar Con system. Reinforcements statically transit from large diameters to diameters particularly in high-rise buildings. This type of coupler (Rebar Coupler) is used in transition reinforcements. For example, a thread is cut on one side of the reinforcement suitable for upset parallel thread system for Q32 in transition coupling Q32/Q25 and another one suitable for upset parallel thread system for Q25 in regard to other reinforcement. Reinforcement is rotated with specially designed coupler and assembly is completed.

Overlapped inserts are not always appropriate tools for coupling rebars. In the Overlapping Method, concrete is required for load transfer. In addition, when the reinforcement reaches the zone of leakage and its diameter changes, clamping ends and the joint doesn’t work. At joints made by Rebartec® rebar couplers such a clamping is not needed and thus the coupler continues to take up load until the tensile strength. It delivers outstanding performance at cold joints formed between the floor columns.
